2009 NFL Week 10 Predictions
With all the teams in the NFL completing eight games in the season, the 2009 Week 10 will start the true playoff push. A team 1 7 can still mathematically make it to the postseason and a team 8 0 can miss it. Each game from here on out is going to be instrumental in the success of a NFL team. Week 9 saw the last of the winless teams break through. We also witnessed some true scares to the two unbeatens. Will the basement dwellers continue to be competitive? Will the elite finally meet their match? Here are your 2009 NFL Week 10 predictions:
San Francisco 24, Chicago 17: The 49ers and the Bears have had disappointing seasons so far, to say the least. Chicago’s last two wins have been against the Browns and the Lions and they are 1 3 on the road. While San Francisco has not been dominant by any means, they should be able to put an end to their losing streak in this short rest Thursday night game.
Denver 27, Washington 21: After putting a true scare into the Falcons, the Redskins showed they have life after all. Too bad the Broncos are a top tier team, still have the most dominant defense in the league, and can crush young ill prepared teams.
Miami 28, Tampa Bay 17: The Buccaneers shocked the NFL by beating up on the Packers for their first win of the 2009 season. The Dolphins played a competitive game against the Patriots. If Miami will just stick to an offensive scheme they can win a few more games. Who will stop the wildcat? Not the Bucs!
Tennessee 17, Buffalo 14: The Titans have showed they aren’t nearly as bad as their record indicates. Basically they can just give the football to Chris Johnson and let him run all over the Bills. Buffalo has the worst run defense in the NFL so look for Tennessee to utilize the unstoppable running game.
New Orleans 42, St. Louis 16: The most potent offense in the league will not be slowed down by a one win team. The Saints can give up points but the Rams simply can’t score. We’re talking about the 1 ranked offense competing against a team ranked 26. No contest!
NY Jets 21, Jacksonville 20: Two 4 4 teams that will hope to battle for a wild card spot. Neither team is impressive nor is either team horrible. Look for the Jets’ defense to outplay the slightly better Jaguars’ offense.
Carolina 31, Atlanta 28: The Falcons have shown they are quite vulnerable in recent weeks. The Panthers were very competitive against the Saints. Carolina has a better defense and is playing at home and that may be the difference.
Pittsburgh 23, Cincinnati 20: The Bengals beat the Steelers in Cincinnati in Week 3. This week Pittsburgh will return the favor. Both teams have had time to work out the kinks so this should be a powerful clash. The Steelers’ defense will prove superior.
Kansas City 13, Oakland 10: The Raiders went into Kansas City in Week 2 and beat the Chiefs. But with Kansas City’s offense working a little more efficiently than Oakland’s, with neither team being able to stop anyone, and with Oakland having a bye week to confuse themselves even more, the Chiefs will win.
Dallas 27, Green Bay 17: The Packers had a heartbreaker in Tampa Bay. The Cowboys won a thriller in Philadelphia. Look for both teams to continue on their emotional journey this week. They both can score some points but Dallas seems to have the whole winning thing under control.
Philadelphia 20, San Diego 17: The Eagles and the Chargers are ranked right next to each other in both offense and wholesale nfl jerseys defense with Philadelphia carrying a slight edge. After the disappointing loss to the Cowboys in Week 9 look for the Eagles to hold onto this game.
Arizona 24, Seattle 13: The Cardinals are nearly an impossible team to make a prediction about. Is Kurt Warner going to sink or swim? It’s anyone’s guess. But even if they throw up a stinker they should be able to beat the Seahawks.
New England 21, Indianapolis 20: Yes, I am predicting the Colts will have their first loss of the season. They have not played a formidable opponent this season and have narrowly come away 8 0. While the Patriots didn’t look all that impressive against the Dolphins, they will rise to the occasion this week.
Baltimore 28, Cleveland 10: The Ravens had real problems scoring against the Bengals but now look at who they are playing. The Browns are coming off of a bye week but what can a week of rest do for a bad team? Let them stew over their pitiful state?
Byes: Houston, NY Giants

Five 2014 NFL Draft Targets for the New York Giants
Coming off their first losing season since 2004, and first since Tom Coughlin took over as head Jiri Hudler Flames Jersey coach, the New York Giants will be looking to upgrade several key positions in the 2014 NFL draft. Here’s a look at five potential targets one at each position of need that the Giants should consider when they pick 12th in the first round.
TE Eric Ebron, North Carolina Many mock drafts have the Giants taking athletic freak Ebron with their first round pick, and it makes total sense considering how thin the team is at the position. Ebron, who broke Vernon Davis’ single season ACC receiving record for tight ends, would open up New York’s passing attack. Remember, Manning is adept at getting his tight ends involved in the offense.
WR Marqise Lee, USC The Giants could use a play making receiver to replace Hakeem Nicks, but Texas A standout Mike Evans most likely will be off the board by the time they pick. If that’s the case, the G Men may consider USC Marqise Lee, who won the Biletnikof Award as the nation’s top receiver with 1,721 yards and 14 touchdowns in his sophomore season. Lee was hampered by injuries as a junior, but he’s been compared to Victor Cruz for his ability to run after the catch.
OT Taylor Lewan, Michigan The Giants spent last year’s first round pick on Justin Pugh, but it didn’t solve the team’s offensive line troubles. Pugh struggled to adjust to the NFL, although he did improve as the season wore on, and left tackle Will Beatty regressed. As a result, Manning was under constant pressure and the running game sputtered. Lewan has the tools to be the G Men’s next left tackle.
LB Anthony Barr, UCLA The Giants traditionally have built defenses around their linebackers, but they have been searching for a difference maker at the position the last few seasons. A hybrid linebacker with Brandon Saad Authentic Jersey size and speed, he had 20 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in 2013. Having lost defensive ends Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck over the last couple of seasons, the G Men could use Barr’s pass rushing skills.
DT Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh Donald projects as a mid late first round pick, but the Giants may want to reach for him after losing defensive line anchor Linval Joseph in free agency. He’s considered undersized for his position, but Donald possesses exceptional agility and quickness. The All American led the Brandon Saad Youth Jersey nation’s defensive tackles in tackles for loss and sacks last season.

ego killed a pro sports leagueNo major sport has a longer off season than professional football. From the end of the Super Bowl in early February until the next kickoff in early September, NFL fans are left to endure seven months of pigskin Siberia every year. (And this year, thanks to the league labor problems, the wait could be much, much longer.)For this we can blame Donald Trump. For a few years in the mid 1980s, America was actually blessed with two viable professional football leagues: The NFL in the fall, while the fledgling United States Football League took the spring months. Launched in 1983, the USFL was a cut or two above most second tier pro leagues. It enjoyed national television contracts with ABC and ESPN (then a newcomer to the sports world itself) and attracted some elite playing and coaching talent. After winning the Heisman Trophy at the University of Georgia in 1982, for instance, running back Herschel Walker spurned the NFL for a contract with the USFL New Jersey Generals. For three seasons, the crowds were good, ratings were decent, and spirits were high. But then the USFL owners made a fatal mistake: They listened to The Donald, who had purchased the Generals in the league second year of operation. Trump pressured his fellow owners to move their schedule to the fall in order to compete head to head with the NFL. It was an act of suicide. Ultimately, the USFL staked its future on an antitrust suit against the NFL, which ended with a Pyrrhic victory (a judgment for $3) that finished off the upstart league for good. One of the highlights of the movie is Tollin interview with Trump, who arrives for the taping in a combative mood, provides a series of hostile answers and then storms off the set. When the film debuted in October Trump publicly ripped it as rate and attacked Tollin as sad guy. (He also sent a note to Tollin with this handwritten postscript: are a loser. Here is the full transcript of our email interview:How did Donald Trump end up with a USFL franchise in the first place?First, I want to say I agreeing to do this interview under protest! I find it horrifying that I can pick up a New York Times or peek over my wife shoulder at the show or click on Salon without seeing Le Grande Coiffure. And in essence I feeding the beast by agreeing to this interview. Patrick Kane JerseySo then, back to those halcyon days of the USFL. It was 1984 and his hair was still brown when the budding real estate mogul bought the New Jersey Generals from Oklahoma oil baron J. Walter Duncan. I was running the USFL production company, and since we had a weekly show on ABC, he saw me (along with his new team) as just another cog in his ever expanding, self aggrandizing publicity machine. We got along well for awhile, http://www.blackhawksteamproshop.com/Jonathan_Toews_Jersey until I tired of his egocentrism and realized his true motives in buying the team. What kind of www.blackhawksteamproshop.com/Duncan_Keith_Jersey an owner was he? And how was his team?In the pantheon of bad team owners, I have to rank him just above Donald Sterling and Frank McCourt. Those two have just endeavored to sink their own franchise, while DJT managed to sink an entire league (an honorable mention to Isiah Thomas goes here). One slight problem I discovered early on he didn know much about football. And he didn care much for it either. Despite trading in quarterbacks like he later trade in wives (Brian Sipe to Doug Flutie to Jim Kelly), Trump Generals failed to win a single playoff game during his tenure.Potatoes makes a pretty strong case that Trump by pushing for the league to move to a fall schedule and sue the NFL was a big reason the USFL died. Can you explain why he wanted to do this and how he pulled it off? What was his relationship with his fellow owners like? Didn he meet resistance from some of them?Donald declared his opposition to spring football from the outset, and he made his real interests transparent: The team was his way to squeeze himself onto Patrick Kane Womens Jersey the pages of the New York tabloids, and the league provided a platform from which he could try to bully his way into the NFL, the established league that had made it clear that they wanted no part of Trump. He had an extremely contentious relationship with most of the other USFL owners, who believed in the vision of an alternative spring pro football league. Ultimately, they acquiesced to the guy with the most money and the loudest voice in the room, and Marian Hossa Jersey Trump led the USFL into a self destructive, all out war with the NFL.Do you think the USFL would still be around today Marian Hossa Womens Jersey if it had remained a spring league?Yes, actually I do. Ratings and attendance were growing steadily until the league announced its intention to switch its schedule to the fall. The league could have hitched its wagons to a fledgling all sports network called ESPN and lived happily ever after. Your exchanges with Trump are some of the best parts of the film. Can you describe the experience of interviewing him? Did he know going in that you were going to be asking some tough questions?Originally, Donald refused my requests for an interview, then ultimately decided he might as well add his spin. His advance person dictated that the cameras favor the right side of Trump face (and hair), which by the way is the first time I had that request in something like 10 thousand interviews! We decided to roll the three cameras from the time he walked in the room until the time he left. I can tell you how much fun that was for me, watching him spin and squirm and talk in circles. He was gruff, impatient, condescending which I guess is to say Did you have any interactions with him after the interview, or after the film aired?Perhaps acknowledging that the interview didn cast the candidate in the most glowing light, that same advance person came back to the interview room after Donald had left and we were packing our equipment. She asked if I come see Donald in his private office, which was just down the hall on the top floor of the Trump Tower. There, while signing a monstrous pile of checks, Donald laid on the charm ( nice to see you after all these years you look well so happy for your success and tried to convince me that he was actually the savior, not the saboteur, of the USFL.I promised to send him a note with a rough cut of the film, so he could make his own judgment, and the rest is Page Six and TMZ history! What do you make of what he up to now claiming to be interested in running for president, questioning where President Obama was born, having combative interviews with reporters?Has anyone seen Donald birth certificate? His mom from Scotland any truth to the rumor that she was visiting her family in Stornoway in when Donald was born? No, seriously, the question should not be what he up to he a reality show host, for goodness sakes, so for him there no such thing as bad publicity. The question should, in fact, be: Why can the media exercise restraint in the face of a grossly manipulative and venal campaign waged by a TV personality? Not that he ever actually be president, but do you think his USFL experience tells us anything about what kind of president he be?Back in the day, my partner Gary Cohen and I used to say that when in a crisis or confronted with a tough decision, Donald was so insecure that he ask everyone their opinion and just follow the last person advice. Scary, huh? But what scares me most is not Donald inexperience or his lack of political savvy or even his reactionary views. It his utter lack of humanity. I want my president to be, above all, a good and decent man who provides a source of hope for the country. We have one of those in the White House now. So I guess the silver lining in all of this madness is that even if Donald miraculously wins the Republican nomination in 2012, I feel confident that America will mercifully return that good and decent man to his job for four more years.

I remember last year when I was drafted in the seventh round and all of the emotions and happiness I felt when I received the call that gave me an opportunity to play for an NFL team and I wish him all the best in his NFL career. I sincerely apologize to Mr. Ross, my teammates, coaches, staff and fans for these tweets.1 This was exploited from the word go by Mr. Sam himself. If your sexual preference is personal, why do we continue to have these "breaking news" Joe Blow has announced that he is. gay stories? 2 Mr. Sam was drafted at the end of the draft, so why was his call given so much media attention other than to give him a platform to express his sexuality? I watched the draft all three days. No one (not even Mr. Football) got this much coverage nor spent this much time celebrating with his significant other. 3 I have heard both gay men and women recoil in disgust at the sheer mention of heterosexual affection. How is that fair?I see, so it’s unacceptable to have an unpopular opinion and voice it, if you do you’re going to "suffer the consequences." People try to claim that since this isn’t the government, civil liberties aren’t applicable, but they fail to realize this is the whole fucking point of civil liberties. If were ok for corporations to violate your civil rights, they’d never be liable in a discrimination case. Yes, ladies and gents, it’s called free speech. That is the right to voice your opinion without persecution. Quite clearly this player is being persecuted for his unpopular opinion. The consequences are the responses to your voice, not administrative rulings, or fines.
